April 7, 2026

Parksville, BC — The Parksville Beach Festival Society, together with Collective Entertainment & Events Group Ltd., is excited to welcome Blue Rodeo to the Outdoor Theatre in the Parksville Community Park on Friday, August 21, 2026. Experience one of Canada’s most celebrated bands in what promises to be the biggest live music event in Parksville’s history.

Presale runs April 8–10 (MAC Box Office mailing list and BlueRodeo.com), with general sales starting April 11.

“Hosting Blue Rodeo is incredibly exciting for our community,” said Cheryl Dill, President of the Parksville Beach Festival Society. “This concert represents the first event of its kind in Parksville, and we are thrilled to welcome a band of this calibre to our outdoor theatre. It’s a significant moment for our Society and for live entertainment in our region.”

Jon Derry, Managing Partner with Collective Entertainment & Events Group added: “We are proud to partner with the Parksville Beach Festival Society. Our organizations share a strong passion for presenting quality entertainment in communities on Vancouver Island, and we look forward to delivering an exceptional concert experience for fans.”

When fans lined Toronto’s Queen Street in the mid-1980s to catch club performances by Blue Rodeo, the band already felt they had achieved success. Over the four decades since, that success has grown exponentially. By staying true to their sound, Blue Rodeo has built an enduring love affair with Canadians.

Formed in 1984 by high school friends Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, the group emerged as a countrified rock band during an era dominated by hair metal and glossy pop. After spending several years in New York struggling to attract label interest, the pair returned to Toronto inspired by the city’s vibrant music scene. Determined to ignore trends, they set out to create what they described as a “psychedelic country band” and Blue Rodeo was born.

Joined early on by Bazil Donovan, Cleave Anderson and Bobby Wiseman, the band quickly gained momentum, filling venues and climbing the charts. Their commitment to authenticity and their distinctive blend of country, rock and folk helped spark a roots and country-rock revival in Canada, influencing a new generation of musicians and drawing comparisons to iconic Canadian artists.

Now celebrating their 40th anniversary, Blue Rodeo has firmly established itself as one of Canada’s most enduring and important bands. The group has received 31 JUNO Award nominations (winning 12) and 17 CCMA Awards (winning two), sold more than four million albums and performed thousands of shows across the country. Their many honours include induction into both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame, appointment to the Order of Canada and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.

Today, the unmistakable sound of Blue Rodeo continues to resonate, driven by founding songwriters Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor. Joined by original member Bazil Donovan on bass, drummer Glenn Milchem, keyboardist Michael Boguski, guitarist Colin Cripps and multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Bowskill, the band delivers a powerful, evolving blend of country, rock and roots that remains distinctly Blue Rodeo.

The evening will also feature opening act Simon Clow, a local singer-songwriter who has transitioned into Canadian country music. Known for heartfelt lyrics and captivating performances, Clow has released award-winning singles and a debut record, with more new music on the way.
