Giving Back

The Parksville Beach Festival Society allocates 25% of the gate proceeds annually to community development initiatives. The majority of these funds are shared with local, philanthropic groups who serve as volunteer gate ambassadors.  Over 150 volunteers welcome visitors through the gate at the sand sculpting site each year, contributing 2700 person hours to the Parksville Beach Festival.

Since 1999, Parksville Beach Festival has provided over $1,000,000 to philanthropic groups and community projects including the Parksville Community Park Sign, the Exit 46 Community Entrance Sign, the Parksville Beach Boardwalk Gazebo and most recently the Parksville Community Park Outdoor Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Bringing Art To Life…

Over a five year period, the Parkville Beach Festival Society collaborated with the City of Parksville to build the exceptional facility that is the Parksville Outdoor Theatre in Parksville’s beautiful Community Park. This multi-purpose facility can accommodate a wide range of uses, from small musical groups to symphony orchestras, theatrical performances, movies in the park, Indigenous celebrations, and more. Completed in July 2022, the theatre is owned by the City and operated by the Parkville Beach Festival Society. We are so grateful for the contributions from Society volunteers, community donors, City staff as well as federal and provincial funders.
