Theme Voting Results Are In!After receiving 733 votes for the 2020 sand sculpting theme, the Parksville Beach Festival Society is pleased to announce the results. The public was asked to vote online for their favorite theme from a choice of three: "Roaring '20s", "Topsy Turvy", and "Celebrate!". The majority (50%) voted for "Roaring '20s" while "Topsy Turvy" took second place, capturing 30% of the votes. "Celebrate!" came in 3rd place at 20%.
"We are always excited to learn what resonates with the public for a theme", commented Event Manager, Wendy Sears, who also surveys past sculptors. "We are currently in the process of selecting our sculptors for this year and they appreciate knowing our theme, so they can start to plan", said Sears.
Parksville Beach Festival Society volunteers can now start to design the summer events around this new theme. Society President, Cheryl Dill, reported that the opening weekend, entertainment and a new event will incorporate a "Roaring '20s" theme. "We aim to please the public and very much appreciate their input in helping us chart the course for Parksville's summertime hallmark event", commented Dill.
