Entertainment Application Form

The Parksville Beach Festival Society is responsible for organizing a 5-week long Beach festival from July 13 until August 18. The main focus of the festival is the Quality Foods Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition and Exhibition, which features amazing works of sand art. The sand sculpting competition will take place July 12-14 and the sculptures will remain on exhibit until August 18.

We will be seeking artists and entertainers to be featured throughout the 5 weeks of the festival. We will be booking solo and duo buskers for weekday afternoons in the Gazebo and paid entertainment for the "Summer Sounds of the Island" concert series on Friday and Saturday nights from 7-9 pm from July 19 until August 17, 2013. The concert nights will take place under the picnic shelter.

The Gazebo is approx. 15x15’, so is most appropriate for soloists and small groups of up to 6 people. 110 power is available. Artists will be responsible for setting up their own equipment and PA system. There is also space in front of the gazebo for larger groups, but this would not be covered.

The Picnic Shelter is covered and without walls, and is approx. 60' x 20'. Artists will also be responsible for bringing their own equipment and PA system for the picnic shelter. Power is available. There are work lights in the picnic shelter.
